It's a Girl! 🩷
Baby has arrived, and it's a girl!
Born just after midnight early Wednesday morning, with our midwife, Mamaw, and Big Country there to help me through.
This being my sixth baby, labor was a relatively short two hours, although transition and pushing were more painful and exhausting than any other except my first. Good thing I didn't know that ahead of time! But somehow, it never lasts forever, and what an overwhelming relief it is to come to the other side.
This is one of those landmark times in life that mark the turning from one chapter to the next. Our Alaska baby joins our Arizona / Colorado born family to make eight.
A couple short weeks ago . . .
And now . . .
9 lbs 1 oz, chubby, pink, and already sweet and expressive.
Her name means island of the mist and beautiful light. For the blog, I’ll call her Faira.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Psalm 127:3-4
